Working at PSI Global - Training and Development

PSI Global firmly believes that its people, with their knowledge, experience and dedication, are the company’s most important asset, and is therefore committed to reinvesting a significant proportion of its turnover in staff training and development.

This commitment is evident throughout the company: staff across all departments, including the company’s senior management, benefit from access to regular training programmes:

• NVQ Workplace organisation: all team leaders are working for level 3 and shop-floor operative staff are working for level 2. Team projects undertaken as part of the course have resulted in significant productivity improvements.
• Apprenticeships: some members of staff are currently training for HNC in Engineering. 
• Advanced management training: several members of staff are currently working for higher degrees and professional qualifications.

Ongoing Staff Training and Development

Training needs are re-assessed on a regular basis, ensuring that all employees are able to benefit. The culture of development is firmly entrenched throughout the company, such that all staff members who are taking time out from the workplace for training can count on the support, encouragement and back-up of their team members.

There is also senior management representation on the regional boards of SEMTA, the Confederation of British Industry CBI and the Engineering Employers' Federation EEF, in addition to valuable links to local universities and membership of the British Fluid Power Association BFPA
